Founded more than a decade ago, bp Ventures is the CVC arm of bp, the British multi national oil & gas company. It aims to identify and invest in private, high-growth, game-changing technology companies that have the passion to accelerate innovation across the entire spectrum. Since its launch, BP Ventures has been one of the most active firms among energy venture capitals and has invested $500 million in technology-related companies along with partnerships with 40 startup companies. 

They took an innovative approach to investing by being both an investor to start-ups while also being an end-user of these technologies within their own operations. This unique step helps them to build long relationships with their start-ups and their co-investors.

BP Ventures engages in investing across various stages of a company's growth, ranging from seed funding to the Series D funding round. Additionally, the firm does not adhere to a set ticket size for its investments, allowing flexibility in tailoring its financial support to the specific needs and potential of each investment opportunity.
