Investment Associate
Jubilant Bhartia Group has a corpus for corporate venture capital, which has been used in the past to take minority /significant minority stakes in early stage start-ups that have transformative technologies/ platforms and offer potential synergies with the group’s operating businesses.
– This role will be a part of the Corporate Ventures team that is tasked with managing existing investment portfolio and building it further in terms of making new investments
Key Responsibilities :
– Market scanning and research to identify and build a pipeline of opportunities that align with investment thesis.
– Conduct preliminary analysis to arrive at a go/no-go decision, perform thorough due diligence (directly or through advisors) on shortlisted investment opportunities.
– Leverage multiple valuation approaches and triangulate onto the value of the asset.
– Prepare and present investment opportunities to the Investment Committee on regular basis.
– Effectively negotiate term sheets, SHAs and close transactions by coordinating with legal, financial and other teams/advisors.
– Build and maintain relations with start-up founders and management teams.
– Develop and execute strategies for maximising ROI and architect exits when appropriate. Conduct periodic reviews and reporting of investee companies’ performance, KPIs etc.
– From time to time, if needed, extend support of similar nature towards other transactions (partnerships, acquisitions etc.) for the Group Promoter family, Board of Directors, Key management personnel / CXOs and the finance/legal teams of all group businesses.
Person Profile
Qualification : MBA/CA/CFA
Experience : 6 to 12 Yrs.
Desired Skills & Must Have :
– 6+ years’ End to end experience in VC/CVC investing across early stage deals either in VC funds or Family Offices (preferred) or spent significant time in top-tier consulting / investing banking firm Sectoral exposure to all or some of the sectors amongst food and food-tech, consumer, healthcare, pharma.
– Financial modelling and valuation techniques, Due diligence process.
– Resourcefulness and creativity to identify and stitch the deal together.
– Highest standards of ethical conduct and corporate governance.
