Our portfolio spans Australia, Europe, Latin America, Asia and North America and includes emerging global leaders; Go1, Hibob, Employment Hero and Online Education Services.

The team is led by Andrew Bassat, SEEK’s Co-Founder and former Group CEO. Andrew and the team have a strong track record of value creation from investing and supporting growth businesses, most notably taking SEEK from a start-up to a multi-billion dollar company.

As a founder-led business, we bring unique insight and experience with a long-term and entrepreneurial mindset. The team looks to actively partner and support founders and management teams to build sustainable competitive advantages and global leaders.

The team comprises 26 people and is looking to hire an Investment Associate.

Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience

• At least three years’ experience in a top-tier global consulting firm or investment bank and, ideally, investment experience working at a VC or PE firm
• A proven ability to take ownership of and independently break down, frame and solve strategic problems and a high level of comfort with ambiguity, and a mindset of test and learn, driven by data
• Strong business and commercial acumen with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Demonstrated effective collaboration to ‘get stuff done’, with ownership and drive delivering outcomes
• A resourceful self-starter, able to work independently, take the initiative and multi-task
• Collaborative and empathetic work style, with a sense of humour
• A high degree of emotional intelligence, creativity, lateral thinking and interpersonal skills and well aligned to the cultural behaviours of SEEK Investments
• Demonstrated ability to build rapport and strong working relationships with an understanding of how to influence others effectively
• Experience with data analysis and presenting key findings both verbally and in written form
• Proficient with Excel and Powerpoint and comfortable with modelling and data analysis
• An interest in early-stage investing and/or technology businesses

Specific Role Responsibilities

• Evaluating new and existing investment strategies and thematics
• Identifying high-potential investment opportunities that meet our investment criteria, conducting due diligence and preparing investment committee papers
• Transaction execution and project management, including managing advisors through accounting/tax/legal workstreams
• Assisting portfolio companies to add material value, including completing large one-off projects (strategic projects, commercial/financial analysis and M&A)
