Senior Associate – Life Sciences Venture Capital

CE Ventures is looking to hire a Senior Associate for its Venture Capital Life Sciences strategy focusing on the Biotech and Therapeutics space. This Senior Associate position plays a key role in the overall investment process and is responsible for evaluating investment and divestment activities in the Life Sciences. Monitor the existing CE-Ventures investments portfolio and develop their own professional network across the Biotech and Therapeutics space. Reports directly to the Deputy CEO & Head of Investments.

Business Development

1. Assist in sourcing new life sciences (Biotech & Therapeutics) opportunities through extensive research, analysis of scientific and market data, building industry relationships and attending industry events.

2. Play an active role in deal pipeline monitoring and management and ensure that all information on current and potential investments is updated on a regular basis.

Investment Execution and Portfolio Management

3. Evaluate Life Sciences (Biotech & Therapeutics) investment opportunities and perform financial analysis, return analysis and scenario modelling

4. Participate in due diligence of new opportunities including tech, commercial, financial, tax and legal due diligence and conduct scientific due diligence either internally or with external advisors.

5. Develop investment papers and presentations for submission to the Investment Committee and to the Executive Board

6. Participate in deal structuring, including defining and negotiating transaction terms

7. Ensure all agreed commercial and financial terms are reflected in the transaction documents

8. Regularly monitor all investments and maintain strong relationships with portfolio companies management and GPs/Funds and prepare regular reports to submit to the Executive Board

9. Provide strategic support to CE-Ventures’ portfolio companies and work closely with senior management teams to ensure the delivery of the required support

10. Support all transaction work related to divestitures, including preparing all required information, investment decks, negotiating deal terms, etc.

Reporting and Communication

1. Prepare reports, presentations, notes, memos, and other materials as required

2. Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external parties. This includes communication with professional advisory firms in finance, strategy, accounting, and others

3. Exhibit and maintain excellent working relationships with all Crescent’s staff

Education

A bachelor’s degree in a life science or biotechnology discipline from a top-tier university. Advanced degree in a life sciences discipline (i.e., MD and/or PhD) preferred.
