Alchemist Accelerator is a global, San Francisco based accelerator that invests in early-stage enterprise startups. Their 6-month program is designed to equip founders with the resources, coaching, network, capital, and support they need to succeed. The program includes weekly meetings and lectures, a library of curriculum, in-person and virtual events, structured mentorship, Demo Day, and a community of 600+ portfolio companies around the world.

About the Role

The VC Principal will play a key role in driving the success of Alchemist startups. They will guide founders from investor outreach to closing capital and oversee the fundraising outcomes of our startups. They will also manage Alchemist’s investor networks, grow Alchemist’s presence in the local venture ecosystem, facilitate founder-investor introductions, and orchestrate events that drive community & connections. They will lead Alchemist’s strategies for founder fundraising & investor engagement, ensuring that our founders connect with the right capital & relationships to succeed, both during & beyond the Alchemist program.

Responsibilities

1. Build & nurture relationships with institutional investors & angel investors and actively engage them in the Alchemist program.
2. Teach founders about venture capital fundamentals, pitching, fundraising strategies, investor dynamics, and create content.
3. Guide founders through fundraising, help them develop fundraising strategies, build investor pipelines, refine their pitches & messaging, and navigate investor conversations.
4. Take ownership of fundraising success across the cohorts, measure & optimize investor engagement & founder outcomes.
5. Organize & execute investor-founder events (e.g. Pitch Showcases, Investor Dinners).
6. Explore proactive sourcing strategies for recruiting startups for Alchemist, help the Admissions team review final applicants and ensure alignment with LP interests.
7. Cultivate strong relationships with Alchemist founders, be embedded in the Bay Area founder ecosystem & venture community.

Requirements

1. 1-2 years of experience in venture capital (e.g. as an Associate, Analyst, or Chief of Staff) in the Bay Area venture ecosystem.
2. Expertise in early-stage venture capital, with a deep understanding of how investors evaluate startups, what makes a compelling pitch, and how founders should navigate the fundraising process.
3. Passion for working with founders, offering guidance, tactical advice, accountability, and candid feedback to help them succeed.
4. A natural teacher, able to distill complex concepts into actionable directions.
5. A strong believer in the power of community, excited to engage with founders and investors, passionate about bringing people together in-person.
6. An experimenter, excited to experiment with new approaches to fundraising education, investor engagement, and ecosystem building.
7. Biased toward action, enjoys rolling up their sleeves and making things happen! Loves planning, executing, and iterating in real time. Comfortable wearing many hats, tackling ambiguity, and working hands-on with a small, fast-moving team.
8. Motivated by ownership, can excel in a high-autonomy role, excited to have direct impact on founder success.
