Startup Incubator Job – Senior Associate, Startup Funding – IIT Madras Incubation Cell (IITMIC)

About the Role: We’re looking for a proactive, detail-oriented professional to lead and manage startup funding operations at IITMIC. This includes seed funding disbursed directly by IITMIC or enabled through government, CSR, corporate, or investor programs. The ideal candidate will act as the bridge between founders, investors, and legal/CS partners, ensuring the smooth execution of investment processes and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Oversee seed funding programs — from evaluation and documentation to disbursement and reporting.
2. Work closely with startups raising external rounds, assisting with the review and closure of term sheets, SHAs, and investment agreements.
3. Coordinate with legal advisors, company secretaries, and internal teams to ensure timely compliance and execution.
4. Track the progress of funded startups and maintain a live portfolio dashboard.
5. Liaise with investors, donors, and ecosystem partners for funding-related collaborations and reports.
6. Support internal governance and Investment Committee reviews with documentation and data insights.

Qualifications & Experience:

1. 5–8 years of relevant experience in startup funding, venture capital, or investment operations, preferably in early-stage or deep-tech ecosystems.
2. A fair understanding of term sheets, SHA structures, ESOPs, cap tables, and equity funding processes.
3. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
4. A background in finance, business, law, or related fields is preferred.
