Role Overview:
As an Analyst at z21 Ventures, you will play a critical role in the investment process, community engagement and portfolio management. You will work closely with the investment team to evaluate potential investment opportunities, conduct due diligence, perform market research, and analyze financial metrics to support informed investment decisions. You will also drive the engagement of z21’s community of LPs, advisors, founders and partner funds to support the portfolio companies post investment. Additionally, you will assist in portfolio management activities, including monitoring performance, providing strategic guidance, and facilitating connections with relevant stakeholders.
Minimum Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, economics, or a related field from a top tier college
- 1-3 years of experience in investment banking, management consulting, venture capital, or a similar role.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate business models, financial statements, and market trends.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively articulate investment theses and insights.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- A passion for entrepreneurship, innovation, and technology.
- Willingness to work PST hours for part of the working day
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in business administration (MBA) or a related field.
- Experience working with startups or early stage companies, either through direct involvement or advisory roles.
- Proficiency in financial modeling, valuation techniques, and investment analysis.
- Demonstrated track record of sourcing and executing investment opportunities.
- Strong network within the startup ecosystem, including founders, investors, and industry experts.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a willingness to take initiative and drive impact.
