Venture Capital Job – Associate, Fund Operations and Finance – Peak Sustainability Ventures

Peak Sustainability Ventures is a Mumbai-based, early-stage sustainability VC fund investing in innovative companies addressing climate challenges across four key areas: New Energy, Water, Food Systems, and Climate.

We are seeking a Fund Operations and Finance professional to join our fund. The ideal candidate will have a background in fund operations and account management within the financial services or venture capital industry.

This position will report directly to the fund Leadership.

Location: Mumbai

Salary: Competitive, based on qualifications

Responsibilities:

• Financial Management: Oversee daily financial operations and assist in preparing fund accounts.
• Portfolio Accounting: Manage and maintain financial records for our diverse investment portfolio, ensuring accuracy and completeness in collaboration with the Fund administrator.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and forecasts for internal and external stakeholders.
• Audit Coordination: Assist in coordinating with external auditors for annual audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
• Tax Compliance: Support tax planning and compliance activities, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and timely filings.
• Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external service providers, ensuring quality service and cost-effectiveness.
• Technology Integration: Utilize technology to streamline operations and enhance data management and reporting capabilities.
• Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure operational compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies, manage risks, and implement best practices.

Requirements:

• Qualification: MBA or a related business degree; Chartered Accountant qualification preferred.
• Experience: 5-7 years of relevant experience, ideally within an Accounting Firm, Investment Bank, Alternatives Fund (VC or PE), or a similar role.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; familiarity with AIF Cat II accounting principles is a plus.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance in the financial sector.
