The Role: We are hiring an Associate or Senior Associate to focus on the rapidly evolving AI ecosystem. As a “full stack” investor, you will be responsible for engaging across the entire investment lifecycle. This is a high-ownership role where you will receive mentorship from senior partners and we will invest heavily in your development and growth. The ideal start date is Q1 2026 (flexible).
Responsibilities:
- Thesis development: Create and refine investment roadmaps to guide firm strategy.
- Sourcing: Identify and build relationships with promising founders, teams, and startups.
- Due diligence: Lead financial analysis and diligence on customers, products, technology, teams, and markets.
- Investment recommendations: Form judgments and present analyses to help drive investment decisions.
- Portfolio Support: Assist portfolio companies with introductions, strategy, hiring, and resources.
About You:
- AI native: You are constantly using and experimenting with cutting-edge products, technologies, and models.
- Professional experience: Ideally 2-4+ years of relevant experience in an operating role at a startup, as a founder, scientist, technologist, or investor. PhD backgrounds are also welcome. No prior investing experience is required.
- Technical experience: Ideally a degree or self-taught expertise in computer science, mathematics, machine learning, engineering, or related fields.
- Mindset: You are an independent thinker, a fast learner, great at connecting with founders, and a self-driven, proactive doer.
- Location: Based in the Bay Area and able to be in the San Francisco office 3 to 4+ days per week.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Base Salary Range: $175,000–$225,000 per year.
- Annual Performance Bonus and an opportunity to participate in the firm’s shadow carry structure.
