Venture Capital Job – AVP/VP, Finance – Transition Venture Capital

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic AVP/VP of Finance to join our leadership team. The ideal candidate should bring 6-10 years of comprehensive financial management experience. Candidates will be highly considered if they have either:

1. Served as the Finance Lead at a funded startup, overseeing multiple successful fundraising rounds from seed to Series B/C.
2. Led deal execution as a team lead in a Big 4 firm, specialising in Private Equity/Venture Capital (PE/VC) late-stage transactions, with deep expertise in financial due diligence (FDD).

This role will be pivotal in ensuring financial excellence across our portfolio and internal operations, providing strategic insights to the Managing Partners, and enabling smooth execution of financial objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead the financial strategy for Transition VC and its portfolio startups.
2. Develop financial models to support investment decisions and operational planning.
3. Collaborate with leadership teams to provide actionable insights, enabling strategic scaling.
4. Provide hands-on support to portfolio companies during fundraising rounds.
5. Oversee capital budgeting and debt financing for portfolio startups.
6. Lead comprehensive due diligence processes and prepare investor-ready financial documents.
7. Help establish robust financial controls, reporting mechanisms, and governance frameworks.
8. Liaise with secretarial diligence teams to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
9. Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes for the fund and its portfolio companies.
10. Monitor portfolio companies’ performance, identify risks, and recommend corrective actions.
11. Work closely with founders and key stakeholders to optimize financial health and operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

1. CA, CFA, MBA (Finance), or equivalent qualifications.
