POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our data infrastructure, ensuring the efficient and secure management of our data assets. The Data Engineer will work closely with our AI and BI teams, as well as other stakeholders, to support our data-driven decision-making processes.
BASIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and architectures
- Implement and manage data integration processes using the AWS technology stack
- Ensure data quality and integrity across various data sources
- Optimize and maintain data storage solutions, focusing on performance and cost-efficiency
- Collaborate with AI and BI teams to support their data needs
- Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline issues, ensuring timely resolution
- Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in data engineering and implement best practices
- Maintain custom application plugins in WordPress
- Participate as a code reviewer in our Agile process
BASIC JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven 3-4 years’ experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role
- Familiarity with the AWS technology stack, including but not limited to AWS S3, AWS Glue, AWS Lambda, and Redshift
- Understanding of Apache Iceberg for data lake management
- Experience with AWS Glue or equivalent ETL technologies
- Proficiency in programming or scripting languages such as Python or PHP
- Strong knowledge of SQL and database management systems
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with stakeholders
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduated with a degree or related studies in computer science, math, or other technical fields (e.g., applied mathematics, statistics, physics, or engineering)
- Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and data modelling
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes
- Understanding of data security and compliance best practices
