SucSEED Indovation Fund (https://www.sucseedindovation.com) has been running an early stage focused SEBI Registered Cat-1 Fund with a corpus of INR 300 Cr having more than 60 portfolio companies across various sectors. SucSEED has also secured a formal approval to set up a its Growth Fund, a Dollar Demoninated Growth Fund, at GIFT City, under the IFSCA regime.

Role Description

SucSEED is seeking a proactive, organized and experienced Fund manager with excellent organization and management skills to support its next Fund-II (SucSEED Indovation Growth Fund) at GIFT City, Ahmedabad/Gandhinagar.. We are looking for a highly motivated, hands-on Fund manager who takes initiative and flourishes in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Fund Manager to lead our investment team. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of managing funds with a size ranging from INR 200 Crore to INR 800 Crore, delivering consistent returns, and maintaining a strong focus on Growth Opportunities as well as risk management. As a Fund Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management and performance of the fund, including investment strategy, portfolio management, and investor relations. This role will act as a lead for the Investment Management & Fund Operations and the individual will be providing executive and logistical support on the operating activities of the Fund and special projects throughout the organization.

Job Location – GIFT City, Gandhinagar, adjacent to Ahmedabad.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement investment strategies aligned with the fund’s objectives. Continuously monitor and adjust strategies to optimize returns.
• Monitor and manage risks associated with the fund’s investments. Implement risk mitigation strategies and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Stay updated with market trends, economic indicators, and geopolitical events that may impact the fund’s performance. Utilize this information to make informed investment decisions.
• Track and analyze the fund’s performance against benchmarks and industry standards. Prepare detailed reports and presentations for stakeholders.
• Lead and mentor a team of Sectoral analysts, Fellows and Interns.. Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team.
• Maintain a good relationship with Sectoral Curators and Thought Leaders.
• Provide regular updates and insights on the fund’s performance and market conditions through Investor Reports.
• Manage a good repo with the fund’s portfolio team, and ensure a balanced and diversified mix of assets. Conduct thorough research and analysis to identify companies for follow-on investment opportunities.
• Ensure all investment activities comply with applicable laws and regulations. Stay informed about changes in the regulatory environment and adapt strategies accordingly.
• Support on all elements of the fund management, including fund controlling and quarterly investor reports
• Development of accounting and reporting processes and controls

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field coupled with a Professional certification (e.g. Qualified CA, CFA, CAIA). Or a Master’s degree in Business / MBA (Finance is highly desirable).
• Preference for individuals with experience of AIFs, and AIF financial operations, with minimum of 6-10 years of experience in fund management, with at least 5 years managing a fund size of INR 200 Crore to INR 400 Crore upwards, with potentially a complimentary experience in a finance operations role, fund services.
• Demonstrated history of achieving strong financial returns and managing investment risk.
• Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills. Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to diverse stakeholders.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities. Experience in mentoring and developing junior staff.
• In-depth knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
• Experience of fund structures
• Deep sense for processes and advanced Excel skills
• Possess good oral, written communication, and interaction skills. Good command over English language (written & Verbal) and preferably in Verbal fluency in Hindi and/or Gujarati / Telugu.
• Experience in working with internal and external stakeholders.
• Be ambitious and passionate and ability to work effectively under pressure.
