We are hiring a DeepTech & HealthTech Investment Analyst for the 2025-2027 cohort (preferable joining date Jan 1, 2025). This is a 2 year, highly intensive, in-depth, pre-MBA Analyst role at one of India’s leading early-stage VC funds.

The DeepTech Investment Analyst role (Bangalore based) is an entry-level role within the Investment team, which is broadly split into three main buckets: B2B/Tech (focussed on but not limited to Deeptech, ClimateTech, HealthTech), B2C/Consumer (with a stronger India focus), and Fintech (including AgriTech and allied areas). We are hiring for one Analyst to join the DeepTech team and work closely with the co-leads (AVP/ VP) within each space, helping Blume pick India’s most exciting early stage entrepreneurs, and then supporting them to grow their ventures, thereby delivering stellar returns for our investors.The analyst’s role will comprise, in decreasing order of priority:
1. Helping source exciting startups for Blume via your outbound network (college alumni networks, communities etc.) and / or through your research
2. Helping Blume in prioritising investing opportunities by building an investment thesis for sectors and opportunities, in conjunction with investment leads
3. Supporting the Investment Lead on the investment evaluation process from start to end
4. Supporting early stage portfolio companies on growth plans and strategic initiatives, in conjunction with the Investment Lead, including regular metrics reporting and MIS reviews
5. Supporting the Investment Lead on any key portfolio, external / thought-leadership or internal initiatives.WHO CAN APPLY?
– Worked in a startup environment or has had a consulting background
– Written articles about these topics
– Volunteered for a startup-related cause
– Participated in winning awards at business plan competitions, etc.
* The ideal candidate will bring considerable curiosity, a willingness to put in hard work and long hours (we work as hard as our early stage founders do), and a proactive ‘how can I help’ mindset to the role. Some proxies of this will come from your academic record, your positions of responsibility in college (placement cell coordinator, campus fest organiser, general secretary, etc) or even volunteer projects or hobbies that convey deferred gratification and long hours pursuing them / working.
* We are also looking for candidates with 1-3 years of work experience across consulting / startups / structured work experience.
This role will be a great fit for you if you have:
-Solid fundamentals of undergraduate level science, one with which one can quickly build an understanding of advanced scientific concepts, hands-on experience in one scientific area (say, biotechnology or semiconductors) allowing you to replicate the patterns in other areas, is a plus.
-Our business is eventually about empathy for the founder and managing multiple stakeholders. Understanding of technology quickly goes in the background once you start managing a company. Hence, the most successful candidates would have an ability to navigate conflicting priorities and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
-A day as a VC involves an ability to context switch several times a day. Hence, the ability to multitask is a must have. And ability to context switch rapidly across biotech, semiconductors, spacetech, pharma, material engineering, etc
-An obsessive eye for detail, with a decent understanding of data visualization to be able to showcase company growth journeys
-Reasonable mastery of quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, including financial modeling and business writing.

This role will require deep research and technical foundations, but also allow for applying business and commercial lenses, and allow you to bring the two together to create a new wave of Frontier Tech to solve some of our big problems.
