Venture Capital Job – Investment Analyst – Alpha Square Group

Position Summary:
We’re seeking a curious, analytical, and tech‑savvy Investment Analyst to join Alpha Square Group’s venture investment team in New York City. This full‑time role spans the full investment lifecycle—from sourcing and evaluating opportunities to diligence, execution, and portfolio support—focusing on innovation-driven companies across AI, deep tech, enterprise software, and infrastructure at early to late stages.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Deal Sourcing & Ecosystem Engagement

   • Research and track promising AI and tech startups

   • Build relationships with founders, investors, and ecosystem stakeholders through outreach, events, and demo days

   • Monitor market trends, funding activity, and emerging technologies

2. Investment Analysis & Diligence

   • Support evaluation of early-, growth-, and late-stage companies

   • Assist with financial modeling, cap table analysis, and benchmarking

   • Contribute to investment memos with market/competitive assessments, product/business model reviews, risk identification, and valuation

3. Portfolio Support

   • Monitor portfolio KPIs, update valuations, and track business milestones

   • Support quarterly performance and operational reporting for portfolio companies

4. Internal Collaboration

   • Collaborate with senior investors during the deal process

   • Play a role in internal knowledge-sharing and process improvements

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field; MBA or advanced degree is a plus

2. 2+ years of experience in venture capital, investment banking, consulting, or tech startups

3. Strong knowledge of AI and the tech sector, and familiarity with startup ecosystems

4. Excellent analytical and financial modeling abilities to evaluate technical businesses

5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building trust with founders and stakeholders

6. Proactive, resourceful, intellectually curious, organized, and team-oriented
