The Role: Join HV Capital’s Deeptech team to turn breakthrough science into high-impact startups. This is a distinctly research-driven analyst role where you will join a highly specialized, hands-on team, gaining unparalleled access to the earliest and most complex stages of company building, scouting, and diligence.

Key Focus Areas:

1. Technology & Market Research: Develop deep expertise in emerging science/engineering fields (quantum, biotech, materials, climate) and proactively identify investable opportunities.
2. Investment Process Support: Manage the analytical core of deal assessment, conducting detailed technical and market research, benchmarking, and expert interviews.
3. Portfolio Value Creation: Collaborate directly with technical founders on topics unique to deeptech, such as accessing funding, building teams, and developing commercial strategies.
4. Founder Enablement: Act as a business mentor for scientists transitioning from lab to market, supporting them to build credibility and scale their ventures.

Job Requirements:

1. Academic Foundation: Open to all academic backgrounds, with a preference for those who have engaged deeply with technology, science, or engineering topics. A proven track record of working on DeepTech topics is essential.
2. Experience: Relevant first-hand experience through research, strategy consulting, investment banking, or startup roles is advantageous.
3. Intellectual Curiosity: A demonstrated passion for scientific advancements and emerging technology.
4. Analytical & Commercial Judgment: Ability to assess both the technical promise and the commercial viability of breakthrough science.
5. Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; able to translate technical concepts for both scientific and non-technical audiences. Proficiency in English is required.
