Venture Capital Job – Investment Associate – Momentum Capital

Momentum Capital, a cross-border micro-VC fund, is seeking a passionate and driven Investment Associate to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to gain valuable experience in the world of venture capital while working alongside experienced professionals from across the globe. The selected individual will play a crucial role in identifying and supporting promising technology startups founded by Indian-origin entrepreneurs, primarily those tackling climate change challenges and building for the US or Indian markets.

Investment Associate Role: The Investment Associate role at Momentum Capital can foster rapid growth early in your career. Among other things, you will benefit from:

Location: Momentum Capital is building a truly cross-border venture team. This role is based in India while working with the rest of the Momentum Capital team remotely for the most part. There would be a requirement to be available partially during US East Coast working hours. Occasional travel within India may be required to meet stakeholders and host events.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive research to understand market dynamics and carry out technology analysis, including performing deal-specific market deep dives to inform strategic decision-making and evaluate business potential.
• Proactively conduct research into new markets, trends, and technologies. Contribute to refining our investment thesis in the Climate and Health Tech spaces, identifying key themes and emerging trends.
• Reach out and engage with Indian-origin founders in the US and Indian startup ecosystems to identify and research high-potential, early-stage Climate Tech companies.
• Lead the development of comprehensive investment memorandums and prepare persuasive pitches to present to the investment committee.
• Assist with marketing initiatives and platform development to enhance Momentum Capital’s brand presence and reach.

Qualifications:

• Strong undergraduate academic background in engineering, business, or finance.
• 1-3 years of experience in Management Consulting or Business Strategy, after the undergraduate degree.
• Excellent analytical and research skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to summarize complex issues verbally and in writing.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and eager to learn and contribute in a fast-paced environment.
• Passion for Climate Tech and a strong understanding of the Indian business environment.
• Experience or demonstrated interest in clean energy, sustainability, and climate action is preferred.
