Venture Capital Job – Investment Associate – Sharrp Ventures

Designation: Investment Associate, VC/PE (4-5 years)

Overview: Sharrp Ventures is a multi-asset class investment firm with exposure across listed

equities, unlisted companies, and private equity funds primarily in India and USA. The firm

manages the proprietary capital of the Harsh Mariwala family – founding family of Marico

Ltd, one of India’s most well respected FMCG companies with a market cap of ~$8.5Bn. With

deep networks across the entrepreneurial ecosystem, Sharrp invests long-term patient capital

and supports its portfolio companies through multiple stages of their growth and evolution.

Sharrp is an early and consistent partner to gritty entrepreneurs who are building enduring

companies. The firm has delivered top decile returns including early investments in industry

defining companies such as Nykaa and Mama Earth in India.

Role description: Work alongside the team to identify and invest in suitable opportunities

across stages and selectively involve in driving value creation activities within portfolio

companies. The responsibilities include:

a. Proactively contribute to sourcing and evaluation of investment opportunities in the

firm’s areas of interest by building engagement with founders

b. Lead meaningful research into themes and sub-sectors of interest to formulate

investment thesis and build deep understanding of themes within consumer

c. Lead financial modelling and investment committee note preparation for dissemination

to relevant stakeholders

d. Drive transaction specific research and diligence efforts by effectively guiding a team

of analysts

e. Track, analyse, and report portfolio company performance and support select portfolio

companies with regular interventions across operational problem statements.

Reporting to: Vice-President

Location: Mumbai/Bangalore

Educational qualification: Graduate degree or relevant professional qualifications from top

tier institutes.

Job specifications:

a. 4-5 Years of overall experience working in a startup/ or CPG company in an operator

role or ex-founder/entrepreneur experience in consumer related sectors or at least 3Y

experience in the consumer sector either as an investor or in transaction

advisory/consulting

b. Appreciation for consumer goods industry.

c. Excellent communication skills

d. Ability to collaboratively work alongside the existing team

e. Ability to engage with founders and have meaningful conversations

f. Ability to think out of the box and drive proactive interaction with relevant stakeholders

Must have attributes: comfortable to work in unstructured situations, well connected in the

relevant ecosystem, willingness to go the extra mile to further interests of the firm, hard work,

hustle, and humour.
