M Venture Partners (MVP) is a venture capital fund based in Singapore that invests in early stage tech companies across Southeast Asia and India. The firm is looking for a highly motivated individual to join us in India and play a crucial role in sourcing investment opportunities and working with the existing portfolio.
The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in VC funds, consulting firms, or investment banks, demonstrating a proven track record in fundraising and investor management.
Key responsibilities
- Source deals and initiate contact with start-ups in India
- Manage all deal execution aspects including, but not limited to risk and market assessment, competitor analysis, due diligence, investment agreements and term sheet development and negotiation etc.
- Develop and present investment opportunities for consideration to our Investment Committee
- Cultivate solid relationships with founders while working through the investment process and provide mentorship and assistance when required
- Monitor financial/operational progress of assigned portfolio companies, and assist with quarterly reviews with management team
Requirements
- A bachelor degree or above from a top-tier university
- Advanced degree (e.g., MBA, Masters, PhD) is preferable
- At least 3 years’ investment experience in venture capital and/or private equity
- Excellent English writing ability and vocabulary
- Experience in giving formal oral presentations to audiences; demonstrated public speaking
- Experience in managing and leading teams
- Strong financial skills and business acumen
- Regional knowledge and experience in SEA and/or India
- Passionate about the start-up scene and venture capital investments
- Ability to provide a quick and sound judgement
- Entrepreneurial experience would be a plus but not a mandatory requirement
