Summary: As an Investment Program Manager at Startup Stairs, you will play a pivotal role in driving the financial growth and success of our incubation companies. Your primary focus will be on orchestrating investment opportunities for startups within our ecosystem, nurturing relationships with investors, and providing strategic financial guidance to startups in our programs. You will leverage your expertise in finance, fundraising, and startup incubation to fuel the growth of innovative ventures.
Responsibilities:
- Investment Strategy and Partnership Development-
- Devise and execute a comprehensive investment strategy tailored to the unique needs of startups in our incubation programs.
- Cultivate and maintain a network of angel investors, venture capitalists, private equity firms, and other potential funding sources.
- Establish strategic partnerships with external investment organizations to enhance funding opportunities for startups.
- Investment Readiness and Preparation-
- Collaborate with startups to assess their financial needs and investment readiness.
- Provide strategic guidance to startups in preparing compelling pitch decks, financial projections, and investment materials.
- Offer mentorship on refining business models, value propositions, and growth strategies to attract investment.
- Investor Relations and Pitching-
- Serve as a liaison between startups and potential investors, facilitating meaningful introductions and connections.
- Coordinate investor pitch sessions, demo days, and networking events to showcase startups to the investment community.
- Deliver captivating presentations that articulate the value proposition of startups and their potential for growth.
- Due Diligence and Deal Structuring-
- Lead due diligence processes, ensuring that startups are prepared for investor inquiries and scrutiny.
- Collaborate with legal and financial teams to structure investment deals, negotiate terms, and finalize agreements.
- Analyze valuation models and investment proposals to ensure alignment with market trends and startup performance.
- Fundraising Strategy and Support-
- Collaborate with startup founders to develop targeted fundraising strategies that align with their growth trajectories.
- Assist startups in crafting compelling investment narratives and value propositions that resonate with potential investors.
- Offer guidance on investor meetings, negotiations, and follow-up communications.
- Program Enhancement and Performance Tracking-
- Continuously refine the investment support program, incorporating industry best practices and feedback from startups and investors.
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the success and impact of investment activities.
- Prepare comprehensive reports on investment outcomes and ROI for internal stakeholders.
- Stakeholder Engagement and Partnerships-
- Build and nurture relationships with startups, investors, mentors, and other stakeholders to foster a vibrant investment ecosystem.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to leverage resources and expertise in supporting startups’ investment journeys.
8. Negotiation with startups-
Negotiation with startups on funding.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field. MBA or Master’s degree is preferred.
- Proven track record 5 years in investment management, fundraising, venture capital, or related roles.
- Deep understanding of startup ecosystems, fundraising dynamics, and investment trends.
- Strong network within the investment community, including angel investors, venture capitalists, and institutional investors.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial concepts to diverse audiences.
- Analytical mindset, proficient in financial analysis, valuation methods, and deal structuring.
- Entrepreneurial spirit, coupled with a genuine passion for fostering innovation and driving startup success.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to navigate complex investment landscapes.
- Must have the knowledge to run AIF or must have worked with AIFs.
