About the Role:

Speciale Invest is hiring for the role of an Investment Analyst to join our SEA team in Singapore as an early member. This is an exciting opportunity to work with an award-winning, top-tier deep tech Venture Capital fund. Reporting to an Investment Manager, the Investment Analyst will have significant involvement in all aspects of the investment process, including sector research, deal generation and due diligence. Some of your responsibilities will include:

1. Create comprehensive and cogent startups and technologies maps in Strategic Spaces based on deep analysis of relevant market and technology trends reports. This will help identify and recommend curated investment ideas.
2. Based on investment priorities identified by Investment Directors, create supporting materials for investment proposals, weekly project reviews, and Speciale Invest Briefings
3. Support Associates and Investment Directors in due diligence activities by assisting with financial modelling, market research, IP analysis, customer calls, and technology analyses.
4. Manage deal flow funnel and manage interactions with entrepreneurs, venture capitalist partners, other CVC partners, and internal Speciale colleagues.
5. Create presentation materials for investment committee review, articulating investment theses and highlighting key transaction considerations and unique insights.
6. Participating in all aspects of due diligence, including financial modelling, business and competitive analysis, deal structuring, and customer and management reference calls
7. As a lead investor, the responsibility of closing funding rounds and bringing in co-investors often falls on us. You will create and regularly update lists of our current co-investors with their latest activities and investments. You will also identify potential sector-based investors that would be suitable partners to co-invest with in first or follow-on financing rounds.
8. Document relevant and up-to-date information from trusted sources in the CRM system related to all startups in Strategic Spaces, highlighting key learning and next steps to consider when appropriate.
9. Supporting the firm’s existing investments, including internal reporting, business development opportunities, and follow-on transactions.

What we Require: Candidates for this position should have the following:

1. One to three years of experience (full-time or part-time) in private equity, venture capital, consulting, or investment banking.
2. Successful academic and professional track record.
3. Interest in working with early-stage businesses focused on material science, energy/power, biomedical, and related areas typically underrepresented in venture capital portfolios.
4. Outstanding analytical skills, detail-oriented, proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to articulate ideas in a group setting.
5. Demonstrated ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment with limited supervision.
6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
7. Superior decision-making, time management, and organizational skills.
8. Self-starter personality with a superior work ethic and uncompromising personal integrity.
