Lead – Finance, Legal & Compliance
We are looking for someone to lead our Finance, Legal & Compliance function. A successful lead will oversee end to end finance ops, tax and legal matters. Not only will she/he look to make improvements and setup better processes but also take up ad-hoc projects as and when they come up.
Responsibilities:
Leadership:
- Supervise end-of period compliances of the organization and support analysis of treasury management, business performance and forecasts
- Support initiatives targeted at financial process improvements and implementation of changes to achieve efficiencies in the finance function of the organization
- Lead accounting & taxation for multiple fund vehicles / entities
Forecasting & Reporting:
- Provide detailed analysis of cash flow and communicate results and recommendations to leadership team for cost reduction & improve operational efficiency
- Monitor financial transactions and ensure compliances with various regulators are completed
- Management & ad-hoc reporting – Investors, Statutory & Leadership Team as and when required
Finance Operations:
- Lead the documentation of all financial books and records
- Oversee & own financial operations
- Planning, organizing & coordinating quarterly and year- end close processes with service providers and auditors
- Drive investor capital calls and treasury management
- Maintains an accurate filing and record keeping system for all financial statements, reports and organization documents.
Legal:
- Drive and facilitate legal documentations with all investors across all AIFs
- Lead negotiations on various funding transactions with portfolio companies
- Facilitate day to day legal retainer matters of portfolio companies
Required Qualification:
- Chartered Accountant
- Prior working experience of 7yrs+
- Penchant to learn about Venture Capital, SEBI AIF Regulations & Start-up ecosystem
- Fund or private equity industry experience is preferred but not mandatory
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in in MS Excel is a must
- Enthusiastic, Self-starter, Detailed- oriented with excellent analytical & problem-solving capability
- Strong understanding of financial concepts and/or operations related to controllers and tax function
- Knowledge in the area of controls surrounding regulatory reporting, financial reporting and/or tax reporting
