Venture Capital Job – Mergers and Acquisitions Analyst – Stellaris Venture Partners

About the Role: Stellaris Venture Partners is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented M&A Analyst to join the team. This is a temporary role for a period of 6 months.

This role is the engine of the inorganic growth strategies for our portfolio, responsible for identifying and qualifying potential acquisition targets for them. You will become an expert on the AI software and services landscape, systematically mapping markets and uncovering companies that can accelerate the growth of our portfolio. The ideal candidate is a curious, data-driven individual with a passion for technology and a desire to build a career in corporate development.

Responsibilities:

1. Market Mapping & Opportunity Identification: Conduct in-depth research to map the competitive landscape for portfolio companies and identify potential acquisition targets. Utilize databases like PitchBook and Crunchbase to build a comprehensive view of the ecosystem.
2. Database Management & Pipeline Development: Build and maintain a proprietary database of potential acquisition targets, tracking key company information and metrics.
3. Initial Analysis & Qualification: Perform initial analysis on identified targets, assessing their product, team, and basic financial health. Assist in confidential outreach to potential targets.

Qualifications and Requirements:

1. A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
2. 2-4 years of experience in a research-intensive role, such as market research, equity research, management consulting, or a junior role in Investment Banking, private equity, or corporate development.
3. Strong qualitative and quantitative research skills with an obsessive attention to detail.
4. A proactive and resourceful self-starter with a genuine interest in the software business model and technology startups.
5. Strong written communication skills and executive presence.
