Job Description

Y Combinator is looking for an Office Manager to help run our new San Francisco location. This is a full-time, fixed-term position (June 1 to late October with the prospect of converting to a full-time, permanent employee). Our Office Manager will need to be onsite 4x evenings per week to help with company events. We expect the schedule to be Monday from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm and Tuesday through to Friday from 12:00 pm to 8:30 pm with some occasional weekend work.

Responsibilities:

  • Occupy our receptionist desk; greet visitors, direct guests to various conference rooms and meeting areas and handle incoming and outgoing mail/packages/deliveries.
  • Day-to-day running of the office including handling routine inquiries, ordering and stocking office supplies/snacks/drinks, and the upkeep of workstations and conference rooms.
  • Oversee contractors as needed.
  • Ensure office cleanliness and tidiness including loading and emptying the dishwasher, cleaning whiteboards in conference rooms, and take out trash and boxes as needed.
  • Assist with onsite events including the check-in of event attendees, coordinating cleaning crews, setting up catering, ensuring security is onsite, and work with our facilities contractor on the setup and breakdown of every event.
  • Proactively seek ways to streamline office processes and leverage best practices that build on our collaborative work environment.

Requirements:

  • Organized: You are someone who enjoys working hard to make sure details are taken care of quietly, smoothly, and in an organized manner behind the scenes.
  • Adaptable: You have the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks.
  • Work autonomously: You must be able to work with little to no direction. You’re reliable and feel a strong sense of accountability
  • Proactive: You know your job is never done. You anticipate others’ needs and enjoy helping others without anyone needing to ask you. You are five steps ahead of everyone else.
  • Must be able to be onsite 4x evenings a week to supervise events with some weekend work.

Location: This position is based onsite at our San Francisco location. Candidates must live in the SF Bay Area or be willing to relocate.

Compensation: $90,000 to $110,000 annually (depending on skills and experience). This is a full-time, fixed-term position (June 1 to late October with the prospect of converting to a full-time, permanent employee).
