Position Summary
Accion Venture Lab seeks a strategic and collaborative Operations Analyst to manage fund operations, provide fundraising and business development support, and manage relationships across internal and external stakeholders. The core and priority of the daily work is operational, but the role will provide exposure to all aspects of Venture Lab’s work, including pipeline development, deal evaluation, portfolio monitoring and analytics, market and sector analysis, organizational development, and support of the wider impact investing industry – all with a focus on innovation in financial inclusion. The position is full-time in a dynamic, hard-working global team, and is well-suited to professionals who are looking to gain direct impact investing experience by working with a leading global fund.
The person in this role will be based in Mumbai, India.
Position Responsibilities
Key areas of responsibility for this role include:
- Fund Operations
- Provide support on fundraising processes, including fulfilling investor diligence requests
- Manage and support all operating, financial and impact data collection processes and ensure timeliness and quality of data collected
- Support the production on quarterly and annual reports
- Answer day-to-day fund-related requests and inquiries
- Portfolio Management & Investment Support
- Coordinate with internal Accion departments and external partners, including investors and grant funders, to fulfill reporting requests related to the Venture Lab portfolio and team activities
- Coordinate across Fund stakeholders, including Limited Partners, to fulfill information requests
- Perform market research as part of due diligence on new investment opportunities
- Participate in meetings related to investments and due diligence
- Business Development and Marketing
- Support Venture Lab’s external positioning and drive industry recognition, including development and circulation of marketing collateral, newsletter updates, blogs, tweets, etc.
- Provide support for event planning including content creation, venue selection and coordination, fundraising and attendee management
- Create material for industry presentations and reports
- Knowledge Building and General Administration
- Perform market deep dives to update the team and influence investment theses
- Coordinate across team to facilitate fluid operations
Position Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Marketing, International Business and / or Communications (or related fields)
- Demonstrated organizational skills; exceptional ability to prioritize workload, track assignments and provide support to colleagues
- Strict attention to detail
- Excellent professional verbal and written communication skills
- Keen understanding of financial statements and accounting principles
- Advanced computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for entrepreneurship and market-based solutions to poverty
Preferred:
- 1-2 years’ work experience
- Experience working or living in emerging markets
- Previous operational support experience from past jobs (including summer internships)
- Knowledge of financial inclusion and/or impact investing industry a plus
- Experience with digital marketing and social media
