About the Role: We are seeking a Senior Associate – Venture Capitalist to join our India team. In this role, you will identify, evaluate, and support early-stage investments in deeptech and healthcare startups, while playing a key part in building out our India-Japan cross-border portfolio. This is a high-ownership role where you will work across the deal lifecycle. We especially encourage applications from individuals who have experience as founders.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Sourcing & Evaluation: Identify and evaluate promising early-stage startups in sectors like biotech, healthcare, and deeptech.
2. Due Diligence & Investment Analysis: Conduct market research, financial modeling, and technical diligence in collaboration with domain experts.
3. Portfolio Support: Work closely with founders to support strategic planning, milestone development, customer acquisition, and fundraising.
4. Ecosystem Building: Represent BNV at startup events and build partnerships with universities, incubators, and co-investors across India and Japan.
5. Fund Operations & Reporting: Support internal processes including deal documentation, investment memos, LP reporting, and pipeline tracking.

You Have (Required Experience & Skills):

1. 7–10 years of work experience as a VC-backed founder in Biotech or healthcare-related startups.
2. Sectoral expertise or domain knowledge in areas like MedTech, diagnostics, synthetic biology, health AI, or biomanufacturing.
3. Strong understanding of early-stage fundraising, hiring, and scaling.
4. Excellent communication, analytical, and relationship-building skills.
5. Highly self-motivated, detail-oriented, and collaborative.

Bonus Points For:

1. Experience as a founder or core team member at an early-stage startup.
2. Familiarity with India–Japan cross-border markets or investment ecosystems.
3. Prior experience in VC fund operations or fund structuring.
