Simplilearn is seeking a Vice President, Commercial Sales- Americas to join our growing commercial organization which focuses on businesses of all sizes from SMB through Enterprise, governments and institutions globally.

This is a highly visible leadership position that will lead a team of sales professionals responsible for driving Simplilearn’s go-to-market efforts in the Americas region. This leader will not only manage and lead the Americas sales team but also be responsible for directly engaging and owning large enterprise opportunities and strategic partnerships. As part of the commercial leadership team this position will have responsibility for collaborating with key leaders across the business to drive an overarching sales plan in a complex & changing environment.

The VP, Commercial Sales – Americas will lead all sales and business development efforts in the Americas by partnering closely across the company to deliver on regional revenue targets. The mission of this leadership position is to design the required strategy, plan effectively and execute with excellence against our commercial business priorities.

Roles & Responsibilities:

● Responsible for leading Americas Sales, partnering closely with all business groups leading GTM efforts, and delivering on the Americas revenue targets and growth strategy.

● Responsible for driving new business opportunities, building and leading Simplilearn’s exceptional Americas sales team while strengthening the company’s position within the region.

● Management of all stages of sales, including identifying opportunities, driving appropriate evaluations and analyses, originating deals and negotiating high-level deal terms, negotiating detailed agreements, managing signing to closing and post-closing transition.

● Develops and maintains constructive relationships with customers, partners and colleagues.

● Lead new business initiatives with strategic partners.

● Identifying where the business can increase its footprint in the Americas. They may identify potential partnerships, opportunities to enhance distribution and open up new markets.

● Work closely with the Marketing team to introduce new campaigns and make decisions that drive sales growth.

● Work closely with the Operations and the Product Group in making recommendations for improvements and enhancements.

● Actively contribute to the yearly requests for proposals (RFPs) process.

● Develops and ensures adherence to budgets and sales plans. Works closely with financial management on performance, plans and projects.

● Creates reports and delivers presentations on sales metrics, achievements, and compliance adherence to Senior Leadership Team and cross-divisionally as required

● Keeps abreast of developments within the industry by participation or attendance at seminars, workshops and professional societies, review of publications and, as necessary, independent study

● Models the Simplilearn values on a consistent basis and promotes these behaviors to the wider sales team.

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. You should be willing and able to travel at least 30% of the time, and this position in the United States.

Preferred Qualities, Qualifications & Education:

● 15+ years’ experience in sales with 5+ years experience in people management and leadership.

● Must be someone who enjoys the entrepreneurial atmosphere of a small company but has been through the experience of scaling up an enterprise to significant organization size and revenues.

● Ideal candidates will have gone through the high growth and scalability issues of a start-up or high growth stage company.

● Prefer candidates with a successful track record of achieving quota and working successfully in EdTech.

● Excellent communication skills

● High energy level, fast-paced personality

● Motivated by goal attainment and performance measurement

● Bachelor’s degree or higher. MBA preferred
