  1. BFI-BIOME, in collaboration with the Foundation for Innovation and Technology Transfer (FITT), is calling for applications for its BFI Biome Fellowship & Kickstarter program. The program aims to deliver transformative Biotech/HealthTech solutions by supporting innovators and early-stage startups.
  2. The program is divided into two distinct tracks:
    • Fellowship: Individual innovators can receive a fellowship of up to ₹50,000 per month for 7 months to focus full-time on developing their solutions.
    • Kickstarter: Startups can receive up to ₹11 Lakhs over 9 months to validate their concept, build prototypes, and scale their early growth.
  3. Focus Areas: The program is focused on innovations in Precision Medicine, Industrial Biotechnology, MedTech, Biomaterials, Diagnostics, and Tissue Engineering.
  4. Eligibility for Fellowship:
    • Applicants must be Indian nationals.
    • Must hold a Master’s degree or a PhD (or have submitted their thesis).
    • Should not be engaged in other long-term academic or research projects with significant obligations.
    • Must be ready to work full-time on the project and not receive salary/income from other sources during the fellowship.
  5. Eligibility for Kickstarter:
    • The startup must be a legally registered company in India, incorporated within the last five years.
    • A minimum of 51% equity must be held by Indian citizens.
    • The startup must be working on a product in biomedical science, biotech, life sciences, or health-tech with potential for substantial societal impact.
    • Must be willing to be incubated at FITT IIT Delhi as per its Incubation Policy.
  6. The application deadline is October 31st, 2025.
