The Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC) has announced its 25th Call for the Biotechnology Ignition Grant (BIG) scheme. This program is for early-stage innovators with breakthrough ideas in biotechnology or agriculture, providing a grant-in-aid of up to ₹50 Lakh.
This call is being promoted in partnership with the Foundation for Innovation and Technology Transfer (FITT) at IIT Delhi.
Focus Areas Include:
- Medical Devices & Diagnostics
- Drugs including drug delivery
- Agriculture
- Vaccines
- Industrial Biotechnology
- Biosimilars & Stem Cells
- Bioinformatics
BIRAC also encourages innovations that integrate biotech with AI, engineering, sensors, automation, and robotics.
Eligibility:
- Startups must have a registered company/LLP incorporated on or after November 1, 2020.
