The Asia New Zealand Foundation Te Whītau Tūhono is offering up to eight young Indian agribusiness entrepreneurs and business leaders the opportunity to visit New Zealand and attend one of this country’s largest regional agricultural events, Central District Field Days.
The week-long programme will give participants better understanding of New Zealand’s world-renowned agriculture sector, a chance to interact with fellow entrepreneurs working in agribusiness, and opportunities to connect their own businesses internationally.

About the Trip
Trip Dates: 9-16 March 2025
Successful applicants will meet New Zealand agribusiness entrepreneurs and business leaders to develop a greater knowledge of the agricultural sector within New Zealand, and explore ways to collaborate with entrepreneurs from New Zealand.
During the trip you will:
- learn about the New Zealand business environment, with a specific focus on agriculture.
- meet and network with entrepreneurs and business leaders from New Zealand.
- meet with government officials from New Zealand and India, Asia New Zealand Foundation’s Leadership Network and Foundation stakeholders.
- take time to learn about the culture of New Zealand.
- attend Central District Field Days, the largest regional agricultural event in New Zealand.
By going on this trip, you will:
- grow your awareness and knowledge of doing business in New Zealand.
- deepen your connections with key industry leaders and entrepreneurs.
- grow confidence as an entrepreneur and of succeeding offshore.
Who can apply?
Applicants must be:
- based in India and have Indian citizenship.
- aged under 40.
- able to demonstrate leadership in their field and working-level proficiency of English language.
- an entrepreneur or business leader at CEO or senior management level involved in agriculture.*
- interested in connecting with equivalents from other countries and exploring international business opportunities.
- confident public speakers willing to engage in dialogue with entrepreneurs from other countries.
- willing to contribute to the relationship between New Zealand and India.
*Outstanding start-up entrepreneurs or emerging entrepreneurs will also be considered. No knowledge or experience of New Zealand is required.

- Early December 2024: shortlisted applicants accepted.
- Early December 2024: applicants apply for visas.
- Early February 2025: pre-departure briefing.
- 9 March 2025: Delegation begins.
Costs
The Asia New Zealand Foundation will fund the costs, including:
- return economy airfare
- domestic transport
- accommodation
- meals and related programme expenses.
Participants will need to cover any additional personal spending money, any applicable visas and travel insurance (mandatory).
