Kerala-based semiconductor innovator NetraSemi has successfully closed a ₹10 crore (approximately $1.2 million USD) Pre-Series A funding round, spearheaded by Unicorn India Ventures. This strategic investment underscores the growing interest in Edge AI technologies and positions NetraSemi to enhance its Machine Learning System-on-Chip (SoC) offerings, including the Netra A2000 and Netra R1000, tailored for IoT applications.
Building to optimize Edge AI
Founded in 2020 by Jyothis Indirabhai, Sreejith Varma, and Deepa Geetha, NetraSemi is headquartered in Kerala, India. The company focuses on developing advanced SoCs for Edge AI applications, targeting sectors such as surveillance, smart infrastructure, and autonomous vehicles. NetraSemi’s unique domain-specific architecture and graph-stream hardware acceleration technology offer a competitive edge, enabling efficient and cost-effective AI/ML use cases across more than 100 applications.
The newly raised capital will be directed towards scaling operations, enhancing product development, and expanding the team. NetraSemi plans to leverage these funds to accelerate the production of its SoC products, aiming for a projected 150% revenue increase in FY25.
