Tata Motors has recently launched some exciting new updates for its Nexon lineup, with key additions like the Nexon iCNG and enhancements to the Nexon.ev range. Let’s break this down step-by-step:

Battery Pack and Range:

  • 45 kWh battery pack enables faster charging speeds at a 1.2C rating.
  • Offers a range of 489 km (Urban + Extra Urban) with a real-world range of 350–370 km (C75 rating).
  • This helps to address a significant EV adoption barrier by lowering acquisition costs, making it a competitive option for buyers.

Features of the Red Hot #DARK Edition:

  • The Red Hot #DARK edition comes with premium additions like red-themed interior/exterior accents, a panoramic sunroof, and exclusive UI/UX for the infotainment and instrument cluster.
  • Additional features include the Arcade.ev infotainment system, a phygital control panel, and Vehicle to Vehicle (V2V) and Vehicle to Load (V2L) technology.

Pricing:

  • The Nexon.ev with a 45kWh battery is priced between ₹13,99,000 to ₹17,19,000, with the top-end Empowered + 45 Red #DARK edition priced at ₹17,19,000 (ex-showroom).

Turbocharged Performance:

  • Powered by a 1.2L turbocharged engine, the Nexon iCNG produces 100PS power and 170NM torque, making it a performance-rich option in the CNG category.
  • It features direct start in CNG mode and an automatic switch between petrol and CNG with a single ECU.

Practicality:

  • The Nexon iCNG has 321 litres of boot space due to Tata Motors’ twin-cylinder technology, which ensures practicality without sacrificing storage.

Safety and Comfort Features:

  • Comes equipped with features like a panoramic sunroof, ventilated leatherette seats, and a 10.25” infotainment screen.
  • Tata’s focus on safety is evident with advanced systems such as leak detection, fire protection, and rear impact protection, making it the safest CNG SUV in its class.

Both the Nexon.ev and the iCNG models further strengthen Tata’s multi-powertrain strategy, offering options across petrol, diesel, electric, and now turbocharged CNG, making the Nexon lineup versatile and well-positioned in the Indian market.
