Ugaoo, a leading startup in the urban gardening industry, has successfully raised INR 47 crore (approximately $5.6 million) in a Series A funding round. The round was spearheaded by V3 Ventures, with participation from existing investors DSG Consumer Partners and RPG Ventures. This infusion of capital is set to propel Ugaoo’s ambitious plans for expansion and innovation in the burgeoning home and garden market.
Cultivating a greener future
Founded in 2015 by Siddhant Bhalinge, Ugaoo is headquartered in Pune and operates a 25-acre farm in Talegaon. The startup has carved a niche in the urban gardening space by offering a diverse range of products, including exotic indoor and outdoor plants, seeds, soils, fertilizers, and gardening tools. Ugaoo’s competitive advantage lies in its integrated supply chain and commitment to quality, which have driven its rapid growth and strong brand recognition.
Path Ahead
“The Indian home and garden category is projected to grow at a CAGR of 30%, opening up significant opportunities for Ugaoo. We plan to deploy the funds towards product enhancement, expanding our regional fulfillment centers, and team growth,” stated Siddhant Bhalinge, Founder of Ugaoo.
With the capital infusion, Ugaoo plans to expand its footprint across India’s top 10 cities and increase its retail presence to 80 stores by FY 2030. The funds will also support product development, strategic partnerships with international plant suppliers, and the introduction of premium plant care products.
