Sixth Sense Ventures is a venture capital firm based in Mumbai specializing in consumer-centric investments. Led by Nikhil Vora, the firm is India’s first domestic consumer-centric venture fund and helps in shaping the growth trajectories of promising startups.
According to the metrics published on their website, Sixth Sense had three major funds. SSV is currently deploying from its 3rd fund (SSIO-III) which was announced in 2021. This fund has a corpus of ₹2630 crores resulting in 31 investments and 7 exits so far. The SSIO-II fund had a size of Rs. 515 crores, making investments in 16 ventures, with 14 exits which achieved a 2.5X return. This marked an impressive growth compared to the first fund (SSIO-I) which had a corpus of Rs. 118 crores in 2016 with 10 investments and 9 exits.
The firm does not have a particular stage of investing however according to an article published in the Economic Times, Sixth Sense had planned to invest in pre-series A and Series-A stages. Their average ticket size was reported to be between ₹40-50 crores in the first round with some capital earmarked for follow on investments.
Sixth Sense Ventures focuses on the consumer sector while demonstrating its commitment to businesses that directly affect the end-users. The key sectors in which the firm invests are food beverages, healthcare, hospitality, and logistics, among others.
The portfolio companies comprise Veeba Foods, Weddingz.in, Vahdam Teas, BIRA, Soothe Healthcare, Saffron Stays, MyHealthcare, LEAP, Hindustan Foods, Grab, Fullife Healthcare, AVG Logistics, and Crossroads, to name a few.
