Assistant VP/ VP – Partnerships and Impact – SINE – IIT-Bombay Incubator

Society for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (SINE) is an umbrella organisation at IIT Bombay for
fostering entrepreneurship and nurturing tech start-ups. It administers a business incubator which provides

‘Start to scale’ support for technology based entrepreneurship and facilitates the conversion of research
activity into entrepreneurial ventures.

We are looking for a highly motivated and self-driven individual to join our team for the following role.

Assistant VP/ VP – Partnerships and Impact

Key Responsibilities and Duties:
● Relationship Management: Develop and manage long term relationships with corporates, startups,
investors, Government, media and other major stakeholders in the startup ecosystem.
● Project management: Ensure that the various programs related to partnerships are going according
to plan by actively tracking activities and managing stakeholder expectations which also includes
closely working with other internal teams at SINE and IIT Bombay.
● Partnerships building: With various stakeholders for long term commercial engagement with SINE.
● Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR): Identifying various CSR partners for potential funding
opportunities, impact reporting, submitting utilization certificate and statement of expenditure in a
timely manner.
● Event management: Organize sessions, bootcamps, demo days, start-up mixers like investor,
mentor – mentee, industry etc.
● Outreach: Responsible for all outward communication from SINE including social media, blogs,
press release, newsletter etc.
● Communication and Reporting: Share regular updates of SINE with relevant partners.
● Promote SINE & create visibility amongst stakeholders involved in technology commercialization,
entrepreneurship & economic development.
Other added responsibilities
● Startup mentoring: Interact and understand the progress of startups incubated on a regular basis,
understand their requirements and provide relevant support and connections when required.
● Startup screening: Assist in screening startup applications for various programs, assess technology
novelty, business potential, competition etc.
● Participate actively in startup events to identify deep tech startups with growth potential.
● Facilitate access to mentor networks & funding opportunities for startups.
Qualifications, experience and expertise:
● Postgraduation in Management with Engineering/Science/Technology background preferable.
Candidate should have an understanding about innovation and startup ecosystem.
● Fair understanding about emerging technologies.
● Work experience of 6-10 years working with startups and corporates in Startup Accelerator/
Business Incubator/ Startup Ecosystem.
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
● Demonstrated ability to work effectively across internal and external stakeholders.
● Ability to lead team and drive various initiatives.

● Excellent time management and prioritization skills.

Location: IIT Bombay, Powai, Mumbai

Experience: Overall work experience of more than 10 years with minimum 5 years experience working
with startups and corporates in Business Incubator/ Startup Accelerator/ Startup Ecosystem.
