Position Description:
We are looking to expand our investment team and the candidate will be responsible to support the deal sourcing function, evaluation and due diligence. The person will play an important role at Pentathlon Ventures and will be responsible for driving the relationship building with active incubators and accelerators and startup communities across India.
– Scouting and identifying new startups for investment, and expanding deal flow with relevance to the investment thesis.
– Conducting initial assessment, research and due diligence on the company and founders to evaluate fit and support fund management across various stages.
– Build deep relationships with active startup ecosystem players including tech communities, incubators, accelerators, angel funds and VCs. The role would require active travel.
– Tracking incubators and accelerators cohorts and attending demo and pitch days
– Attend various events and conferences around the thematic areas.
– Manage deal flow funnel and actively explore channels to expand deals coverage
– Executing a seamless process to maintain the velocity of the deal flow across the funnel and create a great founder experience.
Qualifications:
– A successful candidate will have the following attributes:
– A degree in business, finance or investment.
– 1-2 years of experience in investment (PE/VC/Investment Banking), Consulting or Operational role at a funded technology startup.
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and good analytical skills
– Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment, and self-driven to work in an unstructured environment with minimum supervision.
– Strong networking skills
– Good working knowledge of organizing databases
