Position Title: Senior Manager

Location: IIITD Innovation & Incubation Center, IIITD Campus, Okhla, New Delhi

Overview: The Senior Manager of the Incubation Center has to play a pivotal role in fostering innovation and entrepreneurship within the ecosystem. Reporting to the CEO, she/he will lead a team to support startups and early-stage ventures through their growth journey, providing them with the necessary resources, mentorship, and guidance. This position requires a dynamic individual with a proven track record in entrepreneurship management, business development, and team leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning: Implement the strategic vision and goals for the Incubation Center in alignment with the vision and focus areas for innovation at IIITD.
  • Startup Sourcing and Selection: Plan and run the sourcing and selection process for startups and early-stage ventures to join the incubation program.
  • Program Development: Design and execute comprehensive incubation programs tailored to the needs of participating startups, including mentorship, workshops, networking events, and access to resources.
  • Ecosystem Development: Develop a startup friendly ecosystem to service their business development and operations requirements.
  • Mentorship and Coaching: Organize regular programs for hands-on mentorship and coaching to startup founders, offering guidance on business strategy, market positioning, product development, fundraising, and other key areas.
  • Resource Allocation: Manage the allocation of resources, including funding, office space, equipment, and support services, to ensure the smooth operation of incubated startups.
  • Partnership Management: Maintain relationships with external partners, including investors, industry experts, mentors, and grant providers, to enhance the value proposition of the Incubation Center and create opportunities for collaboration and sourcing new funds. Work with various government agencies and raise awareness about the Incubation Center.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the success and impact of the startups and incubation program, regularly monitoring progress and making data-driven adjustments as needed.
  • Community Engagement: Foster a vibrant entrepreneurial community within the Incubation Center, organizing events, workshops, and networking opportunities to facilitate knowledge sharing, collaboration, and peer learning.
  • Reporting and Communication: Prepare regular reports and updates for senior management and stakeholders, communicating achievements, challenges, and recommendations effectively.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and motivate a team of professionals, including program managers, mentors, and administrative staff, to ensure high performance, collaboration, and a positive work culture.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized and reputed university.
  • Proven experience of 10 years with at least 2 years in entrepreneurship, business development, or venture capital, with a track record of success in assisting startups in funding and scaling. Experience working in an incubation center, accelerator, venture capital firm, or startup ecosystem is highly desirable.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal and team management skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders and inspire and empower others to achieve their full potential.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and proficient in MS Office and other digital productivity tools.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a results-oriented mindset and a focus on continuous improvement. Knowledge of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in entrepreneurship and innovation.

Age: Preferably below 40 years

Compensation and tenure:

CTC for this role is expected to be in the range of Rs.14-20 lakhs per annum, all inclusive, and as per incubation ecosystem standards, depending on experience, skills and current CTC. It will be a contractual position with an initial appointment of three (03) years, extendable based on performance. There will be an initial probation period of 6 months.
