ROLE TYPE

Fellow

LOCATION

Americas (Seattle, Washington DC, San Francisco, Chicago, New York, São Paulo, Buenos Aires, Mexico DF, Santiago and Miami are preferred cities), Bangalore, India, Nairobi, Kenya (must be legally authorized to work in that location).

Capria is seeking a highly qualified, entrepreneurial, and self-directed investment professional to expand our investor relations and reporting activity across an underlying portfolio of 250+ companies, and 15 funds representing nearly USD 1B in AUM. The ideal candidate will have a passion and curiosity for learning about the Global South (South & Southeast Asia, Latin America, and Africa) venture capital ecosystem.

In this role, the candidate can expect to learn the ins-and-outs of the portfolio reporting process and how to package those learnings into succinct and engaging reports, pitch-decks, and newsletters. Capria also provides a unique opportunity for fellows to learn the fundraising process and what goes into having a call with leading institutional investors, HNWIs, and corporate investors across the globe. The candidate will support the team in researching, packaging, and disseminating information to be shared with top-tier blue-chip investors.

You will gain invaluable experience in pitch prowess and investor engagement at a global scale.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a passion to learn about global VC investing, and is excited to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, distributed environment, working closely with a globally distributed investment team across Latin America, India, Africa and North America.

Experience and Capabilities

The most vital areas of experience for a successful candidate include:

  • Any professional experience in a financial services organization requiring strong organizational, analytical, technical, and communication skills is a plus.
  • Any professional experience in fundraising or other outreach that involves compiling and validating data into a high-quality / compelling story is a plus.
  • Experience in a start-up environment or equivalent is a plus. We’re a scrappy, hustling VC firm – you will be able to get a lot done, with limited resources, and quickly.
  • Any professional experience requiring the skillset we are looking for will be considered.

Key personal skills and abilities include:

  • A proactive disposition to take action.
  • Highly organized and able to track multiple requests at the same time.
  • Process-oriented.
  • A strong work ethic and willingness to work as needed to accomplish projects on timelines.
  • Strong written/verbal communication and outreach skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly.
  • Resourcefulness and ability to find information that is not readily available.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Applications (Sheets, Slides, Docs) is required – skills in these are somewhat transferable so strength in Microsoft Office will translate reasonably to Google Applications. Knowledge of SalesForce is a plus. Comfortable working with web-based file storage/sharing services like Dropbox and others. Comfortable and effective working remotely, and able to stay productive in a remote environment.

Role & Opportunity

The candidate will work closely with Managing Partners and IR-leadership contributing significantly in the following areas:

  • Actively support building the top of the funnel fundraising pipeline.
  • Support with fundraising roadshows.
  • Manage key fundraising materials/presentations, and ensure timely and accurate updates as well as tracking distribution.
  • Prepare and distribute information on potential co-investment opportunities (via Special Purpose Vehicle).
  • Manage Potential Investor Data Rooms with well organized and high quality materials.
