About the role
We are hiring an Investment Analyst for a portfolio in Bengaluru.
Work with a set of smart and driven individuals to find outstanding founders – identify and partner with the next big founder! Get a ring side view into the Venture Capital business and see how companies such as Ola, Flipkart, PayTM, Zomato, etc. are built.
The role entails identifying interesting markets, spotting trends, finding outstanding founders (sourcing), helping with business diligence and assisting in portfolio management
Investment Analysis and Thesis Building:
- Identifying new emerging trends in the market.
- Developing investment theses based on thorough analysis.
- Sourcing promising startups for potential investment.
- Conducting in-depth market and customer diligence.
- Getting hands-on with different problem statements to derive unique insights.
Research:
- Conducting both primary and secondary research on various sectors.
- Authoring comprehensive and deeply analyzed thematic reports to inform investment decisions.
Portfolio Support:
- Performing rigorous financial analysis for existing portfolio companies and potential investments.
- Developing robust financial models for business projections.
- Engaging in specific projects to support and enhance the performance of portfolio companies.
Marketing & Community:
- Contributing to various marketing and branding initiatives.
- Participating in community-building efforts.
- Managing social media to enhance the firm’s online presence.
Qualifications & Skill Set
- Engineering graduates from Tier 1 colleges (IIT/BITS).
- Overall, 2-3 years of experience working in a start-up or a VC fund.
- Entrepreneurs or ex-entrepreneurs would be highly preferred.
- Experience in deal sourcing & due diligence is a plus.
- Proficient with Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Should not be an MS/MBA- This is a Pre MBA program.
Qualities We Look For:
- Enthusiasm and curiosity for the venture world.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a zeal for accomplishing tasks in ambiguous situations.
- Strong team player with a passion for digital nation-building.
- Focused on performance with meticulous attention to detail.
- Prior experience with a venture fund or start-up is valued, as it demonstrates similar skills and will be considered a plus.
Interview Process:
- 3-5 sets of interviews with the leadership team and the partners
- Set of Psychometric tests like MBTI/RHETI/TMP
- Case study assignment
