UNLEASH Capital Partners is an early-stage venture capital fund committed to supporting visionary entrepreneurs. These innovators are tackling significant challenges within the financial services sector and harnessing their potential to boost financial inclusion.
We firmly believe financial inclusion is a fundamental cornerstone, empowering everyone to shape their future. Our investment portfolio encompasses a diverse array of startups that address financial inclusion challenges, both directly and indirectly.
Gojo & Company, Inc., a Japanese Financial Inclusion-focused holding company, plays both the Co-GP and anchor LP role of the 1st fund. The two Partners are located in Mumbai and Bengaluru, respectively.
Key highlights of the position:
The candidate will be a founding team member of UNLEASH. We expect the founding team member to be a fully self-driving hustler while respecting teamwork.
To build a long-lasting team, we highly value people who can synchronize the company’s Vision and Mission, not only the professional skill set. This position is a path to Partnership, subject to performance.
Key job responsibilities:
- Strategy and Direction: Shape the overall strategy and direction of the 1st fund, which includes determining focus area, portfolio diversification and stages of investment.
- Deal Sourcing: Identify potential investment opportunities by building relationships with entrepreneurs, investors, potential co-investors, and industry experts, leveraging personal networks, and staying informed about market trends.
- Due Diligence: Lead or oversee the due diligence process for potential investments. This can involve financial, technical, legal, and market analyses to assess the viability and risks associated with a potential investment.
- Investment Decision Making: Play a key role in making decisions about which companies to invest in. This involves presenting potential deals to the investment committee and advocating for or against particular investments.
- Portfolio Management: Monitor and support portfolio companies after the initial investment. This includes attending monitoring meetings, providing strategic advice, making introductions to potential customers or partners, and helping with follow-on financing rounds or exit strategies.
- Exit Strategy Development: Assist portfolio companies in determining the best strategies for exit, whether through an acquisition, merger, or IPO.
- People Management: Hiring, training, and managing an Analyst or Associate to be hired within a year after you joined the firm.
- Compliance and Reporting: Ensure the fund operates within legal and regulatory guidelines and oversee or contribute to regular reporting requirements to stakeholders.
Compensation & Location
- The monthly compensation shall be market-competitive. The position will receive commensurate carried interest.
- Candidate can be based out of Bengaluru or Mumbai
