Profile:

Z3Partners is looking to hire an Investment Analyst in its Mumbai office to support on Investments and Portfolio Management activities. The Analyst should be willing to take on responsibility and see-through tasks end-to-end with light supervision, and get involved in the various aspects of the business as required. The Analyst should possess strong analytical, presentation and research skills.

Responsibilities:

As an Analyst, you will collaborate with other team members on various tasks related to research, investing, reporting, and asset management. Specifically, responsibilities will include:

– Research: Conducting comprehensive research on industries, supply chains, competition, technological advancements, and regulatory environments to identify and analyze potential investment sectors. Creating and updating research papers, as well as preparing regular sector research to stay informed of current trends and market news.

– Collateral Creation: Create research-backed investment collateral including investment memos, market analyses, diligence finding reports, IC notes, etc

– Due Diligence: Conduct end-to-end primary and secondary due diligence on investment opportunities

– Investment and Transaction Execution: Analyzing specific investment opportunities, creating financial models, and conducting financial analysis on potential investments. Supporting the investment team in structuring and executing transactions, coordinating due diligence, and preparing investment papers, presentations, term sheets, and legal documents.

– Asset Management: Analyzing the monthly, quarterly, and annual performance of portfolio companies, participating in asset management activities, tracking and reporting transactions, analyzing M&A and fundraising opportunities, and supporting senior team members in evaluating exit opportunities.

– Firm wide Support: Helping with firm’s marketing, updating website with content pieces, preparing marketing materials and presentations, support Managing Partners on Fund administration and reporting

– Engaging with a broader external audience: Building relationships with other investors, start-up founders / executives and other eco-system players to identify potential areas of collaboration

Requirements:

– 2-3 years of relevant experience in a startup (ideally product or P&L role), venture capital, investment banking, management consulting or strategic corporate development

– Undergraduate degree with a strong record of academic and extra-curricular achievements

– The ideal candidate should possess a high level of analytical skills, intellectual curiosity, a logical and systematic approach to problem-solving, as well as a solid understanding of financial statements at an intermediate level.

– The candidate should have excellent interpersonal, and team skills, with the ability to establish and maintain relationships with intermediaries and relevant institutions.

– The preferred candidate should be a self-starter with a track record of managing multiple priorities and working independently.

– Possesses advanced strategic and analytical skills with the ability to evaluate proposed opportunities from various perspectives, including strategic fit, expected impact, market potential, operational capability, business model, financial performance, valuation, etc. The ideal candidate should appreciate analytical rigor and clarity.

– Has strong communication skills, including excellent writing and presentation abilities, with the capacity to articulate ideas concisely.
