Modern fitness techniques are continuously growing and evolving as a testament to their positive impact. Though, in their presence, many of India’s powerful and traditional workout techniques often get overlooked. These traditional techniques, like Gada or Jori, have honed many of India’s famed athletes. In an effort to promote an amalgamation of our old roots with new fitness know-hows; renowned Indian cricket player Mahendra Singh Dhoni has invested in fitness startup Tagda Raho.
Speaking on the investment, MS Dhoni said, “Happy to invest in Tagda Raho – The brand that reinvented India Ka Apna Workout. I believe in investing in startups and homegrown brands that I can help grow from a grass-roots level. Tagda Raho for me is very interesting because of the innovation involved in bringing a perhaps forgotten workout to the forefront once again. I am very excited to be part of the brand’s vision of expanding and taking the workout to all corners of the country.”
Providing a unique blend of traditional Indian workout equipment with contemporary workout routines, the startup provides something for every athlete. Tagda Raho has taken traditional clubs like the Gada, Mudgars, Vajra, and Sumtola and constructed a special training regimen. This new take on fitness has attracted attention not only from fitness enthusiasts but also from professional teams and institutions; like the Lucknow Super Giants, the Haryana Steelers, and the National Cricket Academy (NCA).
“The workout involves movements and an increased range of motion that activate several muscles that usually remain dormant; it focuses on your core and stability and enhances your mobility. This is also excellent for athletes who are now looking at new forms of exercise to maintain their fitness levels and remain injury-free,” MS Dhoni added.
