About the Fund
WEH Ventures is a well-established early stage venture fund focused on backing opportunities across emerging sectors in India. From our launch in 2017 – we have made a mark as a go to venture fund for founders seeking their first institutional cheque. We are known for our original thought process, selective approach and a high strike rate of finding category leading companies. Some of the companies which we have been early backers of include Jar, smallcase, Pratilipi, Appsforbharat, Masterchow, Unbox Robotics and Animall.
We are looking to augment our investment team (current team size is 4, including 2 partners). The intended location for this position is Bangalore.
What the role entails
Being a part of a small setup – the remit is not narrowly defined. The Associate is expected to operate with a high degree of autonomy to progress the fund’s objectives in the lifecycle of the fund i.e.
- Finding and making investments- (research, theses building, sourcing, IC presentations, engaging founders to close deals)
- Engaging with and adding value to portfolio cos across areas (from MIS to fund-raise to biz planning to M&A, exits and the like)
- Contribute to raise the fund’s visibility, intellectual profile
- Fund-raising for the fund and matters relating to LP engagement, reporting
- Other matters as required including fund audits, valuations etc
This is an opportunity to develop critical thinking, analysis, articulation, learning across sunrise sectors and networks into the VC/startup space under the stewardship of seasoned partners. High-performance can crystallise a significant path to advancement in the firm given the flat hierarchy and positive work environment.
Who are we looking for?
Typical candidates would have a top-tier engineering degree with 2-4 years of experience or a MBA from a reputed B-school. The role is ideal for those
- Looking to move to an investing role from a successful start-up stint (Product Mgt, Chief of staff etc.)
- With investing experience in other asset classes & looking to move to venture or
- Already in venture and looking to accelerate their career
