The World's Day Zero Investor
About Antler
Antler is the investor backing the world’s most driven founders from day zero to greatness. Founded on the belief that people innovating is the key to building a better future, we partner with people across six continents to launch and scale high-potential startups that address meaningful opportunities and challenges. Knowing that exceptional founders can come from anywhere with any background, we have offices in 26 cities, including Austin, New York, London, Berlin, Stockholm, Bangalore, Jakarta, Singapore, Seoul, Tokyo, and Sydney. Our global community backs people from the beginning with co-founder matching, deep business model validation, initial capital, expansion support, and follow-on funding. Fueled by a personal passion beyond traditional investing, we have helped create and invest in over 1,000 startups across a wide range of industries and technologies to back over 6,000 by 2030.
About the Role
With exceptional founders, you will be more hands-on than any other investor at the early stage, as Antler is looking to invest in hundreds of new companies across the UK in the coming years. This includes identifying a new wave of diverse founders through networking and relationship building, bringing them into our residencies to help them find their co-founders and deliver a life-changing experience, coaching them to develop a high-growth startup, and working with them as founders in our portfolio on growth and fundraising. You will be working with a strong team that you can rely on, and you will have the opportunity to develop and grow as you encounter new challenges. Experience in founding or working in operational roles at fast-growing startups is beneficial. You should be motivated to contribute to Antler’s growth and be available full-time in London.
Responsibilities
The role requires an entrepreneurial mindset, strong organisational skills, independence, collaboration, enthusiasm, excellent communication skills, a passion for entrepreneurship, and a focus on achieving results. Alongside creating better systems, processes, and tools, the role includes supporting the operations of the Antler Residency and the growth of Antler’s footprint in the UK:
- Scouting (e.g., originating exceptional entrepreneurs, leading relationships with entrepreneurial communities and networks, reviewing hundreds of founder profiles, ideas and pitch decks.)
- Company-Building (e.g., taking individuals from entrepreneurs to co-founders in our residencies, delivering insightful sessions during the residency, guiding founders and teams to high growth propositions, and leading due diligence to develop insights translated into better investment decisions.)
- Portfolio (e.g. supporting founders with building and fundraising, building your network to serve founders, coordinating with investors, and managing term sheets.)
- Community (e.g. Assisting the Antler team’s growth initiatives in the UK through brand building, networking, entrepreneur and investor engagement, event organisation, local/global investment and portfolio management best practices.)
Experience
The following is a non-exhaustive list of experiences we’re looking for in candidates. We aren’t expecting you to tick all the boxes and aren’t considering certain criteria: must-haves or nice-to-haves. So, please apply if you can see yourself in part of what is written below.
- Proven Experience in the Startup Ecosystem:
- Approximately 3-5 years of experience in venture capital, accelerators, or operational roles within high-growth startups.
- Experience in identifying, evaluating, and nurturing high-potential startups, with a track record of contributing to successfully scaled projects.
- Experience in early-stage investment, including deal sourcing, due diligence, and investment execution.
- Business Strategy and Analytical Skills:
- Strong analytical skills with a proven track record of interpreting complex business data to make critical investment decisions.
- Experience reviewing and analysing hundreds of pitch decks, business plans, and financial models to assess viability and growth potential.
- Founder Support and Ecosystem Building:
- Experience mentoring and supporting founders from the ideation phase to operational scaling and subsequent funding rounds.
- Strong entrepreneurial and venture capital community network, evidenced by previous partnerships and collaborative projects.
- Operational Excellence:
- Hands-on experience with CRM and project management tools such as Airtable and HubSpot, demonstrating efficiency in managing multiple projects and stakeholders.
- Innovation and Proactiveness:
- A proactive approach to finding and engaging with new talent, fostering innovation, and staying ahead of industry trends.
- Experience organising and leading high-impact entrepreneurial events and workshops that enhance community engagement and brand presence.
We embrace diversity and equality. We are committed to building a team with various backgrounds, skills, and views. Talent is everywhere, but opportunity is not. The more inclusive we are, the better our work will be. Gender-diverse founding teams make up more than 30% of our portfolio companies. While outperforming the industry by more than 10:1, this still proves there is a long way to go.
