We have 4 group divisions

Family Office: Formalized in 2018; this division follows an institutionalized approach to managing
investments. Investments range from hard assets (Windmills/Real Estate etc.) to commodities
(Hedged Silver/Gold etc.) to financial assets. This includes investments into funds (PE/Pre
IPO/VC/Arbitrage etc.) as well as direct investments (Stocks/Bonds/Debentures etc.)

CJ Shah: Flagship Company that deals in break bulk solvents and bulk chemicals. Largest chemical
distribution company in India, working with likes of Asian Paints, Berger Paints, PI Industries, UPL,
Syngenta etc. We represent many MNCs including Celanese, Dow, Exxon, Sinopec etc.and import
from around the world

Shah CJ World: Demerged from CJ Shah in 2018, deals with pharma API as well as smaller quantities
of chemicals. Here we represent large companies like BASF, Luxi etc.

CJS Specialty: Started in 2008, India’s largest pure play domestic Specialty chemicals company
representing companies like Lonza, Eckart, Elkem, Clariant etc. Here our suppliers generally tie up
with us exclusively for India and we have been growing at a 25%+ CAGR consistently

Role: Family Office Equity Research Analyst

We are looking out for an equity research analyst for the family office. This will be a research
related role. This will be mainly relating to public equity markets/listed securities. Within that it will
mainly relate to mid and small cap type of funds

You will have the opportunity of interacting frequently with some of the finest minds of investing. There will be weekly meetings with the largest fund managers and wealth managers in the country. Objective will be to streamline and maximize the returns of the family office through evaluating and
picking the right stocks

The team will consist of only 4/5 people with reporting directly to promoter ensuring a flat
hierarchy and a lot of responsibilities and learning. Decisions will be quick and hence results of
efforts will be visible fast. Each day’s work will be different and you will develop multiple skills and build a professional network in the investing community

Responsibilities

• Stock level (Sector agnostic but mid and small cap focused) fundamental analysis including:
• Creating Research reports and projections/models and then pitching the idea
• Above is made on the basis of:
   Directly talking to fund manager/research report access/on the ground access to various
  suppliers/corporate bankers/customers etc.
   Tracking KPI of portfolio companies/competition on monthly basis
   Maintaining data base of special situations that are ongoing
   Industry level research
   Meet with Fund managers and wealth managers alongside team and understand their
  reasons for selecting certain investments. We will try and understand their thesis and
  reasoning’s and try to distill their best ideas to incorporate into portfolio
   Coverage ownership- highlighting key developments such as earnings, news, and
  insights from important sell side notes to the PM.
   Occasional review of alternate types of investments/REITs/Long short funds etc.

Qualifications Required:

1. 2 to 3+ years of experience
2. CA/CWA Semi Qualified/MBA finance/CFA level 2 at least
3. Good experience in Excel/vlookup/IRR etc.
4. Interested in financial markets and a desire to learn more
5. Ability to take initiative and meet deadlines under minimal supervision
6. Good written and oral communication skills and the ability to provide & defend an
opinion with management

Preferred

1. Preferred buy side experience in AMC/PMS/Insurance industry or family office
2. Sector agnostic experience
